I'VE GOT A SECRET...

Have you ever agreed to keep a secret that you were dying to share with anyone who would listen? Who hasn't, right? Well, I'm holding onto TWO secrets right now that I'm just dying to share, but out of strict allegiance to two people who have been very special to me from the day they came into my life, I won't say what information I'm holding onto. Despite my loyalty, anyone care to take a guess? While these two items are secrets today, they won't be in a few weeks, so go ahead... take a guess :-) To make it all that more interesting, I'm willing to answer "Yes" and No" questions only.

Well, you've certainly got me wondering. I'll have to give it some thought and get back to you. First question: Is it something personal or business related?

What kind of flippin' BS is this Belicove!?!? You better spill the beans!!!! :-)

Okay... first to Elain's question: No, it's not business-related.

And to the person who goes by the name "Christina": What, don't you appreciate loyalty?

I'm pregnant?

Posted by: D. Lee Grooms at July 8, 2003 3:44 PM

How "loyal" is it when you're dangling it out there for people to make guesses about???

Posted by: Elaine at July 8, 2003 3:50 PM

OK, 2nd question. You said you "agreed to keep a secret." Does that mean it does not involve you directly?

Posted by: Elaine at July 8, 2003 3:55 PM

I can you let you know it has nothing to do with me!!! I'm sure everyone's had a collective sigh of relief.

Posted by: Matt Holzmann at July 8, 2003 4:35 PM

Okay... D. Lee, you're not pregnant (sorry chum, I know that you've found God and all, but that's still just physically impossible).

Next... Elaine: Right you are, it does not involve me personally.

Matt... You and I have WAY too many secrets about one another... there's no way in hell that I'm going to violate that trust. Besides, the payback would be a real bitch! (Now watch, certain people will ask Matt for all of the dirt :-)

Oh, Elaine: Since no one knows what the secrets are, the loyalty issues with the people involved don't really come into play... but good try kid!

Hey, this sounds just like twenty questions! Let's see...does it have anything to do with (directly or indirectly) with judges and juries?

Posted by: sya at July 8, 2003 8:15 PM

Loyalty is #1 in my book - but, you are teasing us! Not fair!

What the heck else am I going to "call myself"? Hmmm... maybe I will go by a new name... you've given me food for thought there...

Posted by: Christina at July 8, 2003 8:56 PM

Sya... Nope... it has nothing to do with either judges and/or juries.

Posted by: Mikal at July 9, 2003 6:03 AM

Do I know either of the people involved?

Posted by: Elaine at July 9, 2003 8:50 AM

Elaine: No, you do not know either of the people who shared their secrets with me. However, other people who visit Belicove.com, and who have posted comments on the site (including in this thread) do know these persons.

Dude, you are so dying to tell!

So, are you actually going to let people in on these secrets once they are no longer secrets, or are you just going to sit there and seethe?

Posted by: Leigh at July 9, 2003 4:35 PM

To answer Leigh's question... as soon as I'm allowed to say, which should be soon, I will spill the beans, yes. There will be no seething on the Beli-Blog (well, there won't be any long-term seething, that is).

Posted by: Mikal at July 9, 2003 6:57 PM

Okay, here's the real test!!! Would you tell your mother the secrets? Remember, this is a test.

Posted by: Glenda at July 10, 2003 7:58 AM

Mom: I've got a huge grin on my face right now... and that little voice inside my head is saying, "Oh man, no fair... you know you're not allowed to keep secrets from mom"... it's states very clearly in the "Mommy Contract"... no secrets shall be kept from the mother. Uggg... well, yes... I would tell my Mother, if pressed (by my mother would never press me to give up a secret, right?).

Posted by: Mikal at July 10, 2003 11:03 AM

Do these secrets affect anyone other than the keepers of the secrets?

Posted by: Leigh at July 10, 2003 5:17 PM

Just so everyone knows, I would never press you to tell me someone elses secrets. However, I do have to say that I am really curious.

Posted by: Glenda at July 10, 2003 6:23 PM

Leigh: Yes, both secrets will impact people other than the two holders themselves. In fact, the impact will be quite profound, I believe.
