GUEST BELI-BLOGGER LEE MCD: SCAVENGER HUNT IDEAS?

Hi everyone. I've been asked to plan a scavenger hunt for about 10-15 people from my church and need some help doing so. We're a liberal, educated Protestant group with a social conscience about to affiliate with the United Church of Christ so I'm looking for something easy yet also challenging. Any ideas or suggestions for easy, fun, or mind-expanding ideas or items to request? The group is mobile and will be divided into 2-4 teams (?). We're very low-key and casual and want to do it this Friday. Anyone willing to point me in the right direction? Please comment.

Sorry this isn't really a response to the question asked. I wanted to say hi. I just happened across your site. I enjoy it and plan to come back. My name is Melody, and I'm an AE living in Indianapolis, too. I work on the For Dummies series. Small world. Sounds like you're new here. Welcome. It's a wonderful city.

I've helped organize scavenger hunts before. How mobile is the group? Is it "just around the neighborhood" or are they able to get to the next city over?

Have them go to a Ben and Jerry's and eat an entire Vermonster before getting the next clue. That was a favorite in college. That and drinking a shit load of shots and pitchers, but that may not be for the church-going crowd. Although I used to party with some of you Protestants;) Look out!

My friends and I are on to our second annual "amazing race" drinking scavenger hunt. Five teams with designated drivers, and about 10 clues. You need to figure out what bar to go to, chug your beer, and jump back in the car for the next clue. Some are just tasks, like singing "Hokey Pokey" at a Karoke bar and getting audience participation, or doing a grave rubbing at an old cemetery(really fun when your half in the bag). The final two teams meet at a Chinese restaurant and have a "scorpion bowl-off". Do not plan on going in to work the next day!!!!!
