FOUR FOR FRIDAY
Q: If you were able to leave your present job today in order to start your own business tomorrow, what type of business would you start?
Q: Do you have a regular rotation for the clothes you wear to work, or are you a fashionista--the type who wouldn't even consider wearing the same outfit within the same "x" number of days?
Q: What's the largest crowd you've ever been a part of?
Q: What's in the trunk of your car right now? If not your trunk, then how about in the back seat?

1. A biotech company. But I really don't have a head for the actual business stuff--I'd probably hire a business manager to handle the numbers and I'll oversee the projects.
2. I am not a fashionista but neither do I plan (advertently or inadvertently) what clothes to wear each day of the week. I just grab whatever is clean.
3. A movie theater crowd.
4. I don't have a car.
1. Well, I wouldn't leave my job until I was sure I could survive without it in order to start another business. I'd want to start some type of charitable organization that helps Americans in need.
2. I usually wear a variation of the same clothes. My job is casual, so I don't need to dress up much. But in the summer, I have more pretty clothes & shoes to choose from.
3. The largest crowd I've ever been a part of, aside from attending a Bruce Springsteen concert, would have to be Hands Across America. I think it was in 1986 or 1987. Went to NYC down by Battery Park and stood around holding hands with all these people. It was cool. I have the pictures to prove it :o)
4. You don't want to look in my trunk! Right now there are two bags of clothes that I need to donate to Goodwill; 3 yoga mats; a sleeping bag; a blanket; a pair of shoes; car emergency kit; books; raincoat, and of course, a spare tire. Oh, and road maps and an ice scraper.
1. I have always dreamed of starting up a child care/educational training service for young unwed mothers in the city. Train mothers how to take care and nurture their babies at the same time train them for a better paying job or to help them complete an education. It would, obviously have to be a not for profit.
2. I'm a regular rotation person. I work at a school where the kids where uniforms. Fashionistas are not promoted.
3. It would have to be one of the earlier Indianapolis 500 races back when they would really draw a crowd.
4. The back seat has a variety of umbrellas and different weights of jackets..it is Indiana and the weather changes by the minute. Also bags of fabric... my big love.
1. Yet another coffee shop, but this would one have a few twists. They'd also serve Diet Coke, and you could bring in your pets. The pets could enjoy an enclosed area outside where they could run and play while their owners enjoyed a soda and good conversation.
2. I'm not a fashionista, but I'd never wear the same outfit to work in the same week.
3. The Greatest Spectacle in Racing (Indy 500 for those of you not from Indiana)
4. Golf clubs, two portable folding camp chairs, a camp table, emergency roadside kit, extra car seat (for picking up my nephew), and who knows what else.
1. I have three businesses I am bouncing around..one would be a make-up store with hire out artists...somewhat like Sephora. Jamba Juice is my other one, but too costly and Indiana just isn't ready yet. Third and most realistic...real estate investment.
2. Mikal...you know I'm high maintenance! I rotate my clothes by style, length, and color...weather often does not matter. This includes hair and make-up. I am FASHIONISTA to the highest form! No plain Janes here.
3.Largest crowd I have ever been a part of...hmm...I try to avoid crowds. Outside of the crowd in my head...it could be the Indy 500 or the Bush-Reagan campaign. However, I am from Los Angeles...so LAX airport may qualify too.
4. My trunk: a shovel, an umbrella, a map, a gym bag, rope, and a trash bag. I'm just missing the bleach.
Q: If you were able to leave your present job today in order to start your own business tomorrow, what type of business would you start? I would open a Bed and Breakfast or a Restaurant.
Q: Do you have a regular rotation for the clothes you wear to work, or are you a fashionista--the type who wouldn't even consider wearing the same outfit within the same "x" number of days? I usually have a regular rotation. But now with the new dress code at work business-casual instead of casual-casual it will be new stuff for awhile. Then that stuff will be the regular rotation.
Q: What's the largest crowd you've ever been a part of? I would have to say phish audience member. Although I haven't ever made it up to any of the HUGE extravaganza's they have in Maine and Florida...i have still been in parking lots, campgrounds and shows with a large number of people.
Q: What's in the trunk of your car right now? If not your trunk, then how about in the back seat?Right now my car is actually pretty clean. In my trunk is an ice scraper, Colts window flag for the car, and a towel. In the back seat I have a pillow.
1. Used bookstore/coffeehouse
2. Fairly regular rotation, but if I buy something new, I absolutely must wear it the very next day.
3. Probably the Equality Rocks concert in Washington D.C. in April of 2000
4. It's ugly-- In my trunk there's a bag of clothes for Goodwill, assorted tools, jumper cables, an umbrella, a jacket I keep meaning to take back to the store where I bought it, a couple of books
1. An "in-house tutoring" program for kids in the public school system who learn differently from the "canned" method.
2. I try not to wear the same outfit more than once a week; other than that I'm not too worried about it. (Although I enjoy dressing up for other occasions!)
3. I try to avoid crowds as much as possible; makes me feel claustrophobic.
4. In the trunk: A box with anti-freeze, oil, windshield washer fluid and an icescraper; a very large sheet of plastic and a bungee cord for hauling straw for my dogs, and some pieces of straw that escaped from the plastic.
Well, I am four years away from retirement so I have been giving a lot of thought to what I want to do when I retire. Right now I think I want to do some volunteer work and start a part-time Web-Design and Graphic Arts business. An work just enough to pay for my property taxes and tide me over until I can collect Social Security.
For work I rotate. I have seven suits so I donít end up wearing the some outfit on the same day of the week. Since I am not out at work, I need male clothes and since I have only four years to retirement I do not want to transition at work. So I must maintain two wardrobes which can get expensive.
300,000 at a concert back in í74 with the Grateful Dead, CSN&Y, Joe Crocker, Santana and others at an all day concert at Buffalo Stadium.
Nothing in my trunk, but my back seat; hiking boots, hats, a fanny pack with water bottle, a rain jacket, a jacket, umbrella and a whole mess of ATM recipes.
1. I couldn't leave my major job... That being a Mom and major provider to my-wee-boys. If I could I would open a restaurant where people could come and share a song, leave things on consignment and leave comment/notes on a huge message board. Homemade food would be served from recipes handed down and given by friends.
2. I wear what appropriate for the occasion... 'cause Mom taught me to do so. Fashion is just for the moment.
3. Not sure about that answer. Might be a concert. Paul McCartney was a big draw... Ringo was there.
4. A tent, fold-out chairs (2 little ones and one for me), Croquet Set and badminton, something to inflate tires with and a battery jumper cables. Guess if I was to run away from home I would have a place to stay???
