FOUR FOR FRIDAY

Q: Some people collect fine art, while others have a passion for baseball cards. How about you? Do you collect anything in particular? If you don't, did you collect anything as a kid, or would you like to in the future?

Q: When you think back to your high school days, do you have good, bad, or mediocre memories of those four years?

Q: This Sunday is Mother's Day. If you're a Mom, what's the best Mother's Day gift you've ever received? If you're not a Mom, what's the best Mother's Day gift youíve ever given to one?

Q: If you could be the host of any past or present television game show, which show would you choose to host? (If you need a little help identifying all of the possibilities, click here for a list of shows and hosts!)

1. I sort of collect penguins and puffins (not live or once alive ones though :-) I have a special ceramic penguin, some stuffed animals resembling penguins, and a few other penguin and puffin sorts of things. I donít keep them all in one place or have them on display or anything like that, but I do cherish each and every one of them for one reason or another. As a kid, I collected stamps, and in the future Iíd love to collect other stuff too (just not sure exactly what). Oh, I also have a pretty amazing collection of T-shirts going all the way back to college, but thatís only because I canít seem to bring myself to throw any of them away or to donate them to Goodwill. I have this idealistic notion that someday Iíll give them to my kids :-)

2. My memories of high school are mostly good, which sort of surprises me, because over time Iíve generally tended to reflect most on the painful and awkward moments, as opposed to the joyful and drop-deal hilarious ones. The bad times were actually few and far between. And while they certainly were profound experiences, they always resulted in something better happening on down the road.

3. Iím sure if you asked my Mother sheíd say that something I made for her as a kid was the best gift sheíd ever received from me on Motherís Day. But for me, the best gift Iíve ever given her is the one sheíll receive this coming Sunday!

4. Hmmm, let's see. I'm going with The Price is Right. From ìCome on Downî and the giddy and excited contestants smooching with Bob Barker, to the pricing games and the Showcase Showdown (the Showcase Showdown rocks), why would anyone choose to host a any other show? That being said, I have to admit that some of the ones on that big list looked like theyíd be fun alsoÖ The Krypton Factor, The Pop and Rocker Game, and Thatís My Dog among them.

1. I collect art and fabric. My favorite artist to collect is Alvar, but I don't have enough room for much more.

2. I have wonderful memories of high school. It was a good time to grow up.

3. Just spending time with my kids, anything homemade. Mostly spending time and telling stories and enjoying their company.

4. I think it might have been fun to host the Newlywed Show.

1. I tend to collect things that are container-like, such as purses, little boxes, tiny vases. Not that I have a lot of this stuff...actually, I'm trying to collect less and get rid of more.

2. I wasn't particularly fond of high school. The kids I went to school with came from wealthy families and tended to be privileged snobs. Not everyone, of course. I never really enjoyed school until I got to college.

3. I try to give my mother gifts that she'll find useful. Don't know if there was one "great" gift. I like to think that I'm one of her greatest gifts out of 5 (daughters).

4. I don't really watch game shows, except for Jeopardy!

1. I collect baseball caps, lots and lots of caps. Purdue hats, Cubs hats, racing hats, golf hats. I have about 250 hats.

2. I would do High School all over again if I had the option. I just didn't do the right things.

3. I just enjoy spending time with my mother on mother's day.

4. I would love to host Jeopardy. I love trivia knowledge and Alex Trebek has to be rediculously smart with all the Q and A he's done.

1. As a child I used to collect stickers. I still have a huge sticker collection that I have kept. I have taken my collection of letters from good friends/family into my adult years. Other than that I guess you could say I have a shoe and make up collection! If I could collect anything...maybe fine art or cars. Anything else would be too much clutter.

2. High school...some parts of it was fun, however, I made some pretty bad choices. Most of the people I went to school (Los Angeles) with were snobs (children of record producers, actors, etc.) So instead of remaining a nerd, I shaved my head into a mohawk and rebelled. I know my life would have been very different if I took my destined path as a nerd. If I could do it all over again, I would.

3. I am a mother to two beautiful cats. They often forget me on Mother's Day. However, I think the best present I can give and have given to my mom is spending time with her on this day.

4. If I could choose a games show..it's a toss up between What Not to Wear, Real World/Road rules Challenge or Trading Spaces (if that could qualify)...any animal show would be fun too.

1. I'm not big on the whole collecting thing, as my tastes are varied, and are always changing. As a kid, I had a matchbook collection and coin collection.

2. Most of my high school memories are good ones. I had a lot of friends, participated in lots of sports and clubs. However, I've never gone to any of my class reunions.

3. My mom still has a mothers day card from 20+ years ago. It's one that my sister and I gave and re-gave to her each year on mothers day for many years. Each year, we'd add our signatures and the date. If I close my eyes, I can picture the card: It's Pink, with two little bears on the front, and says "Happy Mother Day from the Both of Us". (She often called us her "Smarter than Average Bears")

4. My grandfather wouldn't like this choice, as he is a die hard "Price is Right" fan (was even on the show back in the 80's), but I'd love to host "Press Your Luck". I mean come on.. how cool is it to say.. "Big Bucks.. Big Bucks.. No Whammy's... STOP"

1) I collect cigars! Then I destroy them one at a time by fire. :)

2) I loved High school.

3) Um... wow I dunno. I'll ask Mom.

4) Love connection. Hilarious and lots of desperate women.

1. As a kid I collected napkins. I had hundreds from every place I went. One day I threw them all out, what a dumb thing to collect. Now I collect kids I guess.

2. I loved high school, I wish I could go back with the knowledge I have now, but then again it was great the first time. Like the others who seemed to enjoy it, I was in athletics and lots and lots of clubs/activities.

3. Sorry Mom, but I have no clue what I may have given you for mothers' day. In fact, that reminds me, what to get hmmmm. Oh, wait, I still have two days, not time yet to get concerned.

4. Survivor plain and simple. I would like to be on either side of that production. If we went with a traditional game show, I'd take door number one by the lovely Carol Merrill http://www.letsmakeadeal.com/carol.htm

1. Funny you mention baseball cards...I started collecting them in 1958. I was the only girl in an all boy neighborhood. The ones I didn't clothespin onto the spokes of my bike are still safely packed away. I continued collecting through my adult life....must be some sort of compulsion. I even have original Beatle cards. Total is somewhere around 100,000.

2. High School was pretty fun. College was MORE fun!

3. The best Mother's Day was when all my kids came over, fixed my dinner, did my dishes and let me have the day off. I even got a manicure!

4. My Mom always watch "Queen for a Day". She wanted to wear that tiara soooo bad ! So I guess I'd host that show. However, I am a big Jeopardy fan.

1 - I collect souvenirs from places that I visit.

2 - High school memories = waking up in a cold sweat. Thank god it was only four year, over half a lifetime ago.

3 - My mom gave me a little brother on Mother's Day in the early '70s. I cried. I wanted a little sister.

4 - I want to host "The Amazing Race."

1. Pencils, stamps.

2. Mediocre. See, I made sure I avoided _every_ clique.

3. Hmm. Not sure. She thinks anything I give her is cool.

4. Maybe Jeapordy! or Wheel of Fortune.

1. I collect memories{i must be getting old?}, Heisey Glass, Nature Prints, papers/memories of my boys and more papers...
2. HighSchool Rocked! I loved it!
3. My best Mother's Day Gift was my children... Born the 17th and 15th of May. Much more than a gift... a joy and a BIG responsibility. :-)
4. Not much of a game player... am I a party pooper?
