FOUR FOR FRIDAY

Q1: Do you adhere to any superstitions?

Q2: The Opening Ceremony of the 2004 Summer Olympic Games is less than 30-days away. Are you planning on watching any of the Olympics on television? If so, which events are you most looking forward to?

Q3: How many times per week do you do laundry (said differently, how often do you do laundry)?

Q4: If you could get paid to do something that you've always wanted to do but didn't think was possible to get paid to do, what would it be that you'd do?

Comments:

1. Not in any obvious ones (like black cats, Friday 13th, etc.) but I probably have some erroneous beliefs like tapping the top of a soda can that's been shaken to prevent it from spraying all over the place when it's opened. Found out yesterday that it doesn't do anything to the soda.

2. No. I'm not much of a sports fan.

3. About once a week (like most people, hopefully).

4. Being lazy.

1 - Find a penny....

2 - Olympics = Yawn.

3 - About every two weeks, or whenever I run out of underwear, socks or shirts and have the quarters...although I have been known to buy new underwear, socks or shirts just to get out of doing laundry for a little while longer. I hate doing laundry.

4 - Wha...?

Q1: Signs yes, kismet yes, superstitions no.

Q2: I am a huge sports fan, but I have never been a big fan of the Olympics, so probably not (unless we have another Tonya Hardingesque incident, then Iím all over it).

Q3: Every bloody day.

Q4: I would walk around the streets of downtown handing out money to those less fortunate than myself. $20 is not a lot of money to most of us, but to some, it means being able to put food on the table that day. The best part is seeing the smiles on their face when you do something nice for them, and want nothing in return.

Or, I would stay home and play with my puppy all day. :)

1. Well, I certainly don't walk under ladders, and I try not to step on cracks in pavement.

2. I will watch the opening ceremony and some of the swimming/diving, cycling, running/track, tennis events.

3. At least once a week, not only because I hate the idea of the laundry piling up, but I have to keep my SuperGirl costume looking spiffy.

4. I'd love to get paid play with animals I love animials, but I couldn't work as a vet or at a shelter because I'd be in tears every day being around sick or abandoned animals. Everytime I brush Bogie, he purrs so loud, and it just makes me smile.

1. I am aware of them, but not tied to them.
2. I might watch a little of the swimming to see how Phelps does. I will probably watch it randomly.
3. As needed.
4. Anything creative...

1. I do. But I can't tell you what they are because then they'd be jinxed (see that's superstitious). :o) Ok, here's one: Not telling anyone about something you really want like the promise of a new house or a new job because talking about it would jinx it.

2. I never watch the Olympics. Don't watch sports on TV in general.

3. Usually 2 to 3 times a month. I don't have a washer and dryer where I live, and it's a pain to lug my laundry out to get it done. But, for some strange reason, I like doing laundry. Gives me some sense of satisfaction. Must have to do with my need for order.

4. If I knew that, I wouldn't be in the boring job I have today.

1) I have a superstition to NEVER celebrate a victory until the game/match or whatever is over completely. I watch nervously until the horn has sounded.
2) YES, I do plan on watching the Olympics. Ironically it is the sports I do not play or like that I end up watching in the Olympics.
Olympic Basketball & Tennis = Hate it
Olympic Swimming & T&F = Love It
3) Laundry???????......once a week
Ironing???????......24/7 Baby!!!!!!
4) I am doing it....Working with kids and playing/teaching sports.

Posted mine!

1. Nope, I don't buy into the superstitious ways.

2. Hmm, the Olympics are this summer? I'll watch the highlights because I'm part of the MTV generation.

3. About once a week, unless I go camping and get really dirty.

4. I often wish I could get paid to be me. You know, to be doing exactly what I am doing right now. I wish I could be billing someone $150 per hour for this shizzle.

mines up.

1: Yes. I pick up a penny every time I see one, and I almost always pass it on or pocket it. Walking under a ladder & opening an umbrella are just bad ideas, so I don't do them anyway. I have a black cat, so I've really gotten over that one. I also do like to tap the top of my soda to make it not spray, and I'm extra careful on Friday the 13th. Stepping on cracks really depends on if I remembered to take the meds or not...

2: I definatly plan to watch them! I'm really into gymnastics, and what I really can't wait for is the figure/speed skating in the Winter Olympics, 2006.

3: Laundry is done almost every day here, and I generally am the one to do it 2-4 times a week. Particularly when I'm out of socks/panties.

4:Surf the net. Imagine me making even minimum wage to just be online! It'd be awesome.

Mine's up :)

1. The only thing I do that qualifies would that when someone sneezes, I absolutely, positively without fail have to say the words 'bless you' loud enough so that at least I can hear the spoken words. It doesn't matter where I am or where the sneezer is. If I can hear it, I have to say the words 'bless you' loud enough so that at least I myself can hear them.

2. While I'm not 'planning' to watch any of this year's Olympic events in particular, I'm sure I'll tune in for my fair share. Nowadays, to be honest, I'm pretty much turned off by the Olympics. Between the developed countries professional athletes getting to play against non-professionals from smaller or less-able nations, and the media making darlings out of some of the most undeserving personalities, the Olympics' has lost much of the authenticity that drew me in as a child.

3. I do laundry around twice per week, now that I have a washer and dryer of my own. When I had to use the one in my building or the ones at a laundromat, it was less frequently.

4. Quit my day job as an Acquisitions Editor in order to blog all day long. To augment my income, I'd watch reruns of Seinfeld, Mad About You, and Everybody Loves Raymond.

Oh, no! The last post was #13! Must post just to get past the unlucky number!

Posted by: Bluestocking at July 19, 2004 9:24 AM

Q1: None that I know of (tic,tic).

Q2: Nothing specific. Will probably peek in from time to time. Hopefully sports will be the only news there.

Q3: Two or three times, if I don't let it build up.

Q4: Manage a nice lake resort.
