DISCRIMINATION IN INDY
If you live or work in the greater Indianapolis/Marion County area and have experienced housing or workplace discrimination because you are gay, lesbian, or transgendered, please considered visiting this site. Sharing your story, even anonymously, just may help to get an equality ordinance passed that includes what I believe are to be impirtant sexual orientation and gender identity protections.

As a transperson who is trying to get gender identity and expression included in the existing Anti-discrimination statutes here in Connecticut, I want to say thank you for the posting making people aware that discrimination place against the GLBT community.
Many of my friends have lost their jobs or homes because of who they are. A friend lost her supervisor job of fifteen years a week after she informed them of her transition. They had a layoff (of one person, her) due to lack of work. She later found out that they hired someone for that position one month later. Another friend, when her lease was up the landlord would not renew her lease. We are now asking for special rights, just equal treatment.
The last sentance should read:
We are not asking for special rights, just equal treatment.
( I wish you had an edit funtions )
