FOUR FOR FRIDAY
1: Are you able to watch a movie or an episode of a television show you've never seen before not from the very beginning but from a quarter or halfway thru?
2: When you put gas in your car, do you attempt to put in an amount that equates to a specific dollar amount (say $19.00 even), or are you okay with paying whatever amount pops onto the screen at the time the gas first stops flowing from pump to tank? Said differently, if the initial charge on the pump reads $18.67, do you stop right there, or do you continue pumping until the meter reads $18.75 or $19.00 even?
3: On average, a hurricane produces more energy than the entire world's power plants put together. Which scares you more, hurricanes or tornadoes?
4: What are three things you wish you could do while sleeping?

This was my first time. Mine are up!
1. Yeah, I can jump right into a movie and get fully engrossed.
2. Doesn't matter. My budgetting software does all the math, since I download the info from my credit card into my home money management system.
3. Ummm...hurricanes, because they spawn tornadoes would seemingly be the appropriate answer. But, tornadoes can pop up suddenly, whereas with hurricanes residents typically have a fair amount of warning. That time can be used to safely evacuate. So...I guess tornadoes.
4. Clean the house, pay bills, andlearn languages.
(1) Not really, especially with television, where there are so many options.
(2) If I paid for gas with with cash, I would do that, or at least have the amount end with a 5. But since the credit card does the heavy lifting, it really doesn't matter.
(3) I grew up with tornado drills in elementary school, the wife (from the East) grew up with hurricanes. She was used to a storm that you could see as it slowly came in, her friends had to pull her inside when she went out to sit and watch the tornado come in. Tornadoes, the devil I know.
(4) Cook breakfast, and finish all the things I've procrastinated upon the previous day.
Q1) I like to watch things from the beginning. It's been awhile since this has happened, but if I get to the movie theatre late, I'll wait for the next showing instead of missing anything.
Q2) I make the number even, and will stomp my feet if it becomes $20.01.
Q3) I've been in 3 tornadoes, 2 earthquakes and a building fire, so not much scares me. You get so much warning for hurricanes, so sticking around for one is just stupid.
Q4) Clean the house, and cook breakfast.
1. Yes, sometimes, but since my girlfriend has a DVR, most of my TV viewing nowadays is planned.
2. I almost always top it off, and I do try to get it to a round number. By topping it off, I get a more accurate reading of my gas mileage. I have no such excuse for the round number thing. :-)
3. Tornadoes, definitely, because of the surprise factor.
4. Clean the house, accomplish more at work, and go to the dentist.
Yes, I can jump into the middle of some of the shows on TV, like the CSI series. The plots are pretty much the same, so you can usually figure out what you missed.
I used to do it but now at $2.47 it is a lost cause. The numbers fly by so far that it is no fun any more in trying to get the even dollar amount.
I am more scared of tornadoes than hurricanes. Now you get plenty of warning with hurricanes.
And for those of you who say, ìWhat does she have to worry tornadoes, she lives in Connecticut.î Well about fifteen years ago, while I was at work, one passed about a half a mile from us. It destroyed about twenty homes and the air museum at Bradley Field.
Sleep, I have been waking up around four each morning, lose weight and exercise.
1. I can jump into the middle of a tv show because honestly, how much plot can you miss in the course of a half hour or hour long show, since 10 to 20 minutes consist of commercials anyway? Movies? Not so much. I'll wiat till the next showing.
2. I usually fill it up, partially becuse I put it on plastic, but more because I'd rather just get it done with all at once than have to keep my had on the nozzle had hope to catch an even dollar amount with how fast it goes by.
3. Neither, really. There's usually at least a bit of warning, and even so, if Fate decides that my number's up, hiding in the basement isn't gonna help.
4. Clean my apartment, catch up on my reading and maybe learn a new language.
1. I don't enjoy watching an episode of a TV show I've never seen, in the middle. Unless it looks really interesting. But, old re-runs of shows I never watched to begin with, I won't watch at all.
2. I don't care what the amount is. Why would I want to pay an extra 5-15 cents for gas just to make it even, if I don't have to?
3. Tornadoes. I'm used to hurricanes and know what to expect, but I've never really witnessed a tornado. Both are scary though.
4. Cook. Read. Exercise.
1. Most television programs I could watch from anywhere within the show. I am usually doing something while I watch tv anyway, so it is not that important.
2. If I am paying cash I try to be exact. If not, let her roll.
3. Tornadoes, I live in the midwest and, so far, we haven't had any major ill effects from a hurricane. But I am sure there will be a movie out soon where a major hurricane makes it across the Appalachians and into the midwest.
4. Most learn another language or two. I already doze off while doing housework. It would be nice to be able to exercise while sleeping, too. That way I could get my 60 minutes a day in.... cool. And learn a language. I would be exhausted when I woke up.
