Q1 - Saturday Night Live: Never watch it and I have no interest in watching it. I guess I am just a different generation
Q2 - Air Travel: The last time I flew on a commercial airline was 1999 and that was out to Seattle and back from San Francisco. I do fly the corporate shuttle between Hartford and corporate headquarters when I have to go to a meeting.
Q3 - Perception: It dependsÖ as Don I think they perceive me as quite, reserved, shy, introverted person. As Diana I am still somewhat shy and reserved, but I am very outgoing and take charge type of person. As Diana I am executive director of a support group, have been asked to sit on the Board of a 501(e) non-profit group, lobbed state senators and representatives and I regularly give presentations at colleges and universities through out Connecticut.
Q4 - Reading: J.K. Rowlingandís Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince (Book 6) and I just started Jamison Greenís ìBecoming a Visible Manî
1. I haven't watched SNL for a long time, but let's see....I might tune-in for J.D. Salinger. Is he still alive?
2. I am not a frequent flyer. Oh, I am SO not a frequent flyer. I'd have an anti-anxiety med addiction if I were.
3. People perceive me as someone stuck-up over how beautiful I am.
No wait..people perceive me as being a bit quiet, odd around the edges, and a great fan of DOonna Reed.
Honestly, I have no idea how people perceive me.
4. Last books was Holy Cow, a book of travel writing from a woman who lived in India. It was hilarious.
I'm currently reading Talk To The Hand, by Lynn Truss.
Next up...Kite Runner
1. I don't watch SNL very often so I'm not sure...
2. Er, no. I don't fly that often either.
3. Probably as an introvert--shy, quiet, aloof.
4. I'm in the middle of so many books right now that it isn't even funny. I am still reading The Mismeasure of Man by Stephen Jay Gould--almost finished though! And hopefully I will start Lisa Goldstein's Strange Devices of the Sun and Moon sometime soon.
1. I would like to see...John Stewart host. Even though he doesn't really need to be on SNL, he's FUNNY! That's more than I can say for the current cast and sketches.
2. I don't belong to any frequent fliers club, nor do I have them via my credit card. In the past I did have frequent flier miles and I cashed them in to purchase a ticket back to graduate school after Christmas break because I had no money to pay for a ticket.
3. I think they see me as shy/quiet/reserved. They think I'm a nice person and know they can count on me. Hopefully they don't think I'm not interested in what they have to say because I am quiet. It takes me a while to warm up to people.
4. The last book I read...good question, it was so long ago I can't remember.
1. I would like to see Oprah Winfrey on SNL. that would be a hoot. There is plenty of skit material for her.
2. Just when I got my special frequent flyer discount account, my company cut back on almost all flights except for directors and above. Just my luck.
3. I hope funny, reliable, and trustworthy.
4. Reading "The Five People You Meet When You Get To Heaven." Just finished "You: The Owners Manual."
Q1: SNL -- John Stewart would be good (he could show SNL's "news" staff how to do the news so it's actually funny), and George W. Bush would be good because deep down inside, you know there's a budding comic just bursting to come out. But for my money, I'd have to go with anyone who is good at memorizing lines. Nothing's worse than watching the guest host--or the rest of the cast for that matter--so clearly looking off to the left or to the right for their lines. Best Guest Host Ever (IMHO): Jessie Jackson. He was brilliant. No one can read "Green Eggs & Ham" like he does.
Q2: Frequent Flier Miles -- I have a ton of them on one airline, and I keep telling myself I'll use them but only in the case of an emergency. Hopefully, that one airline will stay in business long enough for my emergency.
Q3: Perception -- I think people generally perceive me as being smart and well spoken (I'm convinced though that that's only due to the fact that I wear glasses... ditch the glasses and who knows what people might think).
Q4: Reading -- Last book I read... "Micro Branding" by T. Scott Gross. Next in line... "The Truth, With Jokes" by Al Franken.
Q1: I'll second Oprah and Jon Stewart and add Nathan Lane.
Q2: Right now I have 1.5 million frequent lfier miles scattered among various airline accounts. As you can tell, I travel a lot for business. I probably redeem 100,000 or so a year for myself and give away about the same amount to friends and total strangers who I happen to find cute or at least interesting.
Q3: More confident and self-sufficient than I truly am most days.
Q4: Just finished The Ten Faces of Innovation (nonfiction) and rereading T.S. Eliot's Four Quartets. About to dig into The Accidental Masterpiece and The City of Fallen Angels.
