FOUR FOR FRIDAY

Q1 - Name It: If you were asked to put together a band, what would you name it and what kind of music would you play?

Q2 - Food: When was the last time you ate cake, and what type of cake was it?

Q3 - eBay: Have you ever bought or sold something on eBay? If so, what did you buy (or sell)? If not, why not?

Q4 - Training: How useful do you think diversity or sexual harassment training is in the workplace?

Q1- I would name it "On Empty" and it would play circus music. Oh wait- that is my life now... I'd start a funky little band that played a variety of music. I'd name it

Q2- That would be chocolate cake about 2 weeks ago. It was store-bought (so if you buy store bought, ask to sample first!) and quite possibly the worst cake I have ever eaten, the icing tasted like Crisco, no sugar whatsoever. Chocolate cake is my favorite, too- how unfair!

Q3- Yes, I have bought and sold lots of stuff on eBay. One time I sold this antique mortar and pestle. It was interesting. I love eBay!

Q4- I think it is useful in avoiding lawsuits but other than that, it's kind of pathetic that we have to teach our employees not to harrass one another. be nice....

Q1: The band would be called Chrisman and the Blue Suede Bombadiers and we would only ONLY play Bangles Covers.

Q2: Had cake last week, and it was white coconut. And it tasted like insulation.

Q3: Lots of business transacted on Ebay and I have a 100% excellent cutomer satisfaction rating. Mostly computer equipment and music equipment, and a painting I once painted with just my feet.

Q4: Listen, Sweet Pants, why don't you bend over and pick up those pencils I just dropped. And did you remember to get that little somethin' somethin' for my wife? Also when you gonna shave off that beard?

1. Hank & the Howler Monkeys. We'd play sultry south american-styled music.

2. About a year ago, and only because my brother and his son baked it from scratch and the kid made me feel guilty for not taking any at first.

3. I've bought China, sterling silver, cookware and music among other things. Sold? China, collectible magazines and crystal, if I remember correctly.

4. It depends. If the company is committed enough to the concept that they follow through after the training, it's great. If, as noted above, it's done primarily as an exercise in lawsuit avoidance it's pretty much useless.

1. Cavemen are Cool. Hard rock/punk.

2. The last time I ate cake...at work last month to celebrate a co-worker's birthday.

3. I've never used eBay because I don't know how it works and I don't buy a lot of stuff off the Internet.

4. I think it's important to have S-harassment training in the workplace. I've experienced it a lot, and quite frankly, when it happens, I call people on it.

Let's see here....
1. My band would be called "Purple Ant" and we would only play TMBG cover songs.
2. Cake... Not a big fan. I ate pie yesterday.
3. Nope and nope. I don't trust many people and I really don't trust PayPal.
4. I think that it's a nice gesture the couldn't hurt.

I miss your non-four-for-friday posts, Mikal. Are you posting elsewhere?

My Band: I'd prolly just be a band with Mr Cones and we'd play folky stuff with strummy guitar. Maybe we could call it Mr and Mrs Cones.

Cake: I think it was Mother's Day and it was something delish... maybe chocolate chip cheesecake? I think that was it.

eBay: My eBay feedback rating is like 565. I've sold tons of things and purchased tons of things. I sell my old CDs mostly... some books. I've bought clothing, toys that I had as a child, even grocery store coupons. When I need something, eBay's the first place I go. I like the idea of giving items a second life.

Not sure what there is to distrust about PayPal... it's been absolutely problem-free for me as both a money-sender and a money-receiver.

Diversity/sekshooal harassment training usefulness: I think it's about as useful in real life as it was on both the UK and US versions of "The Office". (and LOL the "sweet pants" post, above).
