FOUR FOR FRIDAY

Q1 - Food Eating Contests: Joey Chestnut, the top-ranked U.S. competitive eater, is looking to capture his second straight title this weekend at the Waffle House Waffle-Eating World Championships at Stone Mountain Park, Georgia. (Last year, Chestnut won the title by devouring 18.5 eight-ounce Waffle House waffles in 10 minutes.) If you were to quit your day job and take up competitive eating as a professional gustatory athlete, what food items would you specialize in, or, which food eating contest would you be the hands-down favorite to win the world championship?

Q2 - Laundry: When you do laundry, do you use the recommended amount of detergent or do you pour to your heart's content?

Q3 - Handwriting: Do you like your signature?

Q4 - Today: What are four things you know you will not be doing today?

Comments:

(1) I would win the house brand preservative-filled-soft-cookie with frosting on top that you get in boxes of 12 at your local Kroger-type-store.

(2) I use the recommended amount.

(3) Love my signature, I have great handwriting. My signature gets more like my father's every year.

(4) Mowing the back lawn, looking for a new job, exercising enough, cleaning up the bedroom.

I would NEVER do one of those crazy eating contests!! OY VEY! Not for $50,000. (Maybe more)

When it comes to the laundry detergent, I never fill up the cup. I just pour in what I want which is usually twice what they recommend.

I love my signature. I actually think about that often when I sign my name.

Four things I will not be doing today.....climbing a mountain, eating fried green tomatoes, making love, and going to the top of a really tall building.

Good Four For Friday, MIKAL! Love you! - Kate

Welcome back, Mikal, although I think it is you who should be welcoming me back!!

# 1. Bananas are my favorite fruit, although tomatoes are a close 2nd. They are my favorite fruit that is generally perceived to be a vegetable. I could eat oodles and oodles of unagi, a pan-seared eel served in sashimi-like strips. Do they have a contest for that? Also, would drinking lots of sugar-laden lemon drop shots at JG Goff's in Providence, RI, count as a food? If so, count me in!!
# 2. I usually eyeball the correct measurement. Close is good enough for me.
# 3. I changed my signature after college from my full name to just LMcDaniel and I LOVE it!!!
# 4. I won't be a. going to the beach (I'm in Missouri right now), b. going on a date (unless a miracle prevails!), c. making a million dollars (on this or any other day, either), d. watching my high school alma mater, Seneca, MO HS, lose its home opener against Neosho, MO (Go Indians!!!).

1) Tofu eating contest. I wonder if they have one?
2) I use the recommended amount.
3) I love my signature
4) A)Winning the lottery (You have to play to win)
B)Cleaning
C)Paying Bills
D)Running a Marathon

1) I'm so stuffed from lunch @ the moment that all I can tell you is it WOULDN'T be Quiznos ... despite their toasted goodness.
2)I put 3/4 of a cap in ... regardless of load size
3) Yes!
4) Flying a plane - winning the lottery - curing cancer - dancing

1. I would never enter a food eating contest. Unless beer is considered food. :)
2. Always to the line
3. I never really gave it much thought.
4. Mowing the lawn, taking the kids to soccer practice, running a marathon, or going on vacation.

1. Any small fruit, like berries. I could eat them all day.

2. I just pour in an estimated amount. It's not like my clothes are that dirty.

3. Yes. Although, some day, it will hopefully be new.

4. 1) Receiving a job offer, 2) Rollerskating, 3) Kayaking, 4) Having steak for dinner.

1. Cheese Danish, the mana of the gods.
2. I have found that about half of what the detergent company wants you to put in is still more than enough unless you must have that detergent smell. Actually, if you get a cleaner that has sodium laureth sulfate as an active ingredient, I guarantee you won't need much and you will have perfectly clean clothes.
3. No, I moved schools alot as a child and penmanship was fortunately a course that I never had to take. Also, considering that almost all of the writing I have ever done has been on a pc, I think I could count on four fingers the number of times I have ever written more than a page by hand and end up not using three of them.
4. Having a gender change operation, going to the moon, seeing a fairy princess, or inheriting 1.5 million dollars.

The word I previously used for gender is not allowed...

1. Oh man, I would not do an eating contest. I'm getting nauseous just thinking about it.

2. The recommended amount.

3. Not really. My name is too short to do anything interesting with it.

4. a) studying for class; b) reading the book on Nabokov I'm in the middle of; c) doing laundry (heh!); d) cooking.

1. Food Eating Contests: Actually, Waffles are my favorite food, I'm hoping a plane right now to Georgia and I'm going to kick Joey's butt!!
2. Laundry: I fill the cap to the top every time. The more the merrier I say.
3. Handwriting: Here's the deal. I was a straight A student my whole life (well until college when I was bored out of my mind and dropped out and couldn't care less about grades) EXCEPT for in grade school I would always get C's for writing. Having said that, I love my signature! Take that Mrs. Evans!
4. Today: It's now Saturday, so today, I will not be: a) taking my daughter on a hike because I'm working; b) But I also won't be working too long; c) caring about what our moronic politicians are doing to jack up our country; d) flying anywhere.
