Q1 - Most of the time joy, sometimes burden.
Q2 - The same - let kids be kids.
Q3 - Saturday morning
Q4 - IMs for chats with friends, Texts for quick questions or quick flirts
Q5 - Nothing like a hardcopy newpaper when you have time to sit down and enjoy it. Online is better for daily news.
Q1: Joy, as long as I'm the one who owns it...I would hate to go back to renting.
Q2: I would leave it the same or shorten it. I think there are much more complex social influences than how long a kid sits in school that influence their achievement. Shorten it and take some of those saved pennies to address those issues.
Q3: Sat
Q4: IM, especially since my latest phone has no qwerty.
Q5: Hardcopy...if I'm gonna read it I want all the details. Web news is too often too short.
1. Ask me when I can afford to buy one.
2. Keep it the same length, but make it year round with more frequent, but shorter breaks.
3. I'm jsut getting off work at 6:00 am Saturday morning, so I'm gonna say Sunday
4. Texting is EVIL
Bonus: Online for convenience, But nothing beats holding the pages in your hands
Q1 - Joy, mostly. I love our house.
Q2 - The same. Kids do need time to be kids. The only quibble is that I'd like to see the kids in school 5 days a week every week--except for actual holidays--from September through May instead of taking a day off every other week. SOOO annoying.
Q3 - We try to go to church on Sundays. I work every other Saturday.
Q4 - I do both. I prefer IMing because I have a keyboard. My phone is not CrackBerry accessible.
Bonus Question: Q5 - I read the local paper that arrives in the mail because they don't have a webpage that is informative. Otherwise, I get all my news off the net.
Q1: I've never owned a home, so I can't really say.
Q2: To be honest, it makes no difference to me at this point in my life. I don't have any children and won't for years to come.
Q3: I like Saturday mornings.
Q4: Both. Although I have drastically cut back on texting since I got my iPhone. I am probably one of the few people who do not care for a QWERTY system. I can text 10 times faster on a normal number pad set up.
Q5: I like reading the hardcopy, but usual read my local news online.
1- I would expect joy, though I've never owned.
2- Slightly shorter, I wish I still had summer break myself.
3- I favor Saturday morning... but I'd really choose Sunday afternoon naps if you really want to know my favorite part of the weekend.
4- IM, the qwerty keyboard is my friend and there's not such a limit on the characters or conversation length.
5- Haven't had print in ages, but I'd pick it just for the Sunday comics section.
Q1: A bit of both. I like the freedom of (mostly) doing what I want on and to my property, but I don't like the responsibility and expense of upkeep, property taxes, and house payments. Sometimes, I begin to feel as though I'm a servant to my home. But then again, I really don't want to return to apartment living.
Q2: I'd keep it the same, group students by academic achievement, raise standards, and encourage curiosity. I am glad to see Obama putting the responsibility back on the family and on the individual. I don't believe any legislation is going to fix the problems with education in America. Year-round school certainly won't do it.
Q3: Friday night.
Q4: Email.
Bonus Question:
Q5: Online, on-demand, yeah!
1. Both
2. Status Quo
3. Saturday Morning
4. Instant Messaging
5. Online
Q1 - Homeownership: More joy than burden most days.
Q2 - School Year: I'm with the majority in keeping it the same. If it has to be either/or, then make it shorter.
Q3 - Weekend: Saturday morning. Sunday hardly feels like a day off to me with all the responsibilities of my faith that occur on that day.
Q4 - Quickly: IM'ing is easier. But my phone is always with me, my computer is not.
Bonus Question:
Q5 - Newspaper: Online edition. I hardly pay attention to current events as it is. A hardcopy would just go to waste in my home.
A1) Homeownership: Joy vs. burden, in constant tension
A2) School year: I'd prefer to see the school year structured differently. Shorten the summer break and distribute rest of the breaks throughout the year. Perhaps a 10-3 or 12-5. But, I think it's even more important to provide for additional educational opportunities for all students, such as a 10 or 12 week study abroad term, greater access to experiential and outdoor education. Getting away from standardized testing would be beneficial too.
A3) Weekend - Sunday morning, which usually includes an early visit to the local cafe for coffee, beignets, fruit, and NYTimes after a good trail run.
A4) Quickly: Always texting; phone is with me all the time.
A5) Newspaper: Nowadays, online edition over my iPhone, but I do love the feel and look of newspapers and frequently find myself reading the NYTimes, USA Today or Washington Post in a hotel or a cafe.
