Four For Friday For Friday April 16
Q1 - Pajamas: How often do you spend an entire day during the weekend in your pajamas? And if you do, how do you view that day... does spending it in your pajamas mean it was a "good" day or a "wasted" day?
Q2 - Restaurants: Name three restaurants you've always wanted to try.
Q3 - Mail: Neither snow nor rain nor heat nor gloom of night may stay the nation's letter carriers from the swift completion of their appointed rounds, but e-mail and the U.S. recession may stop their Saturday deliveries. Under a plan currently being considered, the U.S. Postal Service would cut Saturday delivery beginning in 2011. How do you feel about the possibility of the Postal Service ending Saturday deliveries?
Q4 - Toyota: Attitudes toward the safety of Toyota vehicles have remained consistent among both Toyota owners and the general public over the past month, a recent Zogby Interactive poll of U.S. adults finds. A majority of both Toyota owners and the general public continue to believe Toyota vehicles are equally or more safe than other vehicles. However, while a majority of Toyota owners say they are very or somewhat satisfied with the way Toyota management has handled the safety and recall crisis, the general public does not feel the same. If you were in the market to buy a car, would you seriously consider buying a new Toyota?

Q1: Pajama - It's been so long I can't remember the last time I spent an entire day in PJs. Still, when I do, the balance of the day is pretty darn magnificent, but I'd be lying if I didn't share that toward the end of the day (around 5:30 p.m. or so), well, I just feel really guilty and like I didn't live up to my potential for that one day, unless of course it's snowing, which it doesn't do in southern California. Now, if I had a pajama-wearing partner in crime (someone to laugh, snuggle, and share the paper with - and it'd be even better if she were a great cook), it'd be a whole different story... no guilt whatsoever :-)
Q2: Restaurants - I'm going to stay local (Laguna Beach) on this one: French 75, Tabu Grill, and Sorrento Grille. Nick's is on my list as well, but the person who made up these silly questions limits me to three answers only.
Q3: Mail - I would rather pay a premium than lose Saturday service all together. Increase prices on me if you must but don't reduce the level of service just because you need to cut back in order to continue to fund your ludicrously conceived pension fund.
Q4: Toyota - I'm of the mind that buying a new Toyota right now makes a lot of sense. The showroom staff will likely be bending over backwards to accommodate new car buyers, and it's not like the vehicle comes without a warranty or wheels. Still, I'd do my homework to find out what the issues are that have caused so many recalls, and I'd buy smart.
1. A good day--as long as I wasn't in them because I was sick.
2. Fogo de Cao, In 'n' Out Burger, Emeril's
3. No Saturday delivery wouldn't really bother me other than the fact that it could hold up delivery of DVD's from Netflix.
4. After having them as rentals I'm partial to Mazda and Nissan but yeah I'd definitely consider a Toyota especially now that the Saturn Marque is a thing of the past.
1- Well, I just had a tonsillectomy about a month ago, and I spend about 2 weeks in my pajamas (yes I did shower still). But before that, it had been a while. Sometimes my girls and I would have pajama parties on Saturdays, but we always got dressed later in the day.
2- (As in try but haven't yet?) 1. Fenton's in Oakland California, 2. Ruth's Chris (wherever there is one), 3. The Smoked Apple (Lindon, UT)
3- I don't get much mail besides bills,... so it would be something I could definitely live with either way they went with the decision. Besides, the packages/mail I do get other than bills, I have sent to my work.
4- I would consider buying a new Toyota any day of the week. My dad works for Nissan, so I always have driven a Nissan and have been very pleased with them. But I would say that Toyota would be in my top 3 Auto Manufacturers to consider when buying a car (new or used).
Q1 - Pajamas: Did it last Sunday, it was GLORIOUS!
Q2 - Restaurants: Les Halles, Carnegie Deli, Nobu. Betcha think I'm being trendy, but I love Tony Bourdain, I love rye bread and I love sushi...and I have New York on the mind.
Q3 - Mail: Meh, my Netflix habit may suffer, but it makes economic sense.
Q4 - Toyota: If I was in the market for a Toyota I wouldn't be deterred. I'd still trust a Toyota over a GM, sticky accelerators be damned.
1—Only if I'm sick, do I pull the jams all day. H1N1 and I rocked the jams for about 3 straight days last fall, lots of movies and sleeping.
2—Adolf's in Park City only one I can think of now.
3—Barely check the mail 3-4 times a week anyway, we'd survive with no saturday delivery.
4—I've got my eye on a particular Toyota model—have for a year or more. Have done the research and have not been dissuaded by the recent issues Toyota is working through. I think now is a good time to buy Toyota.
Q1 - PJ's - Currently doing that. Working at home on Fridays has it's benefits!
Q2 - Alize at the Palms in Vegas, Signature Room at the top of the Hancock building in Chicago, The Four Seasons in NYC
Q3 - I'd be fine with it. People are realizing that 99% of mail is something worthless and can be done without paper. But I still love getting something 'good' and unexpected in the mail, as long as it's not from a Mr. Kazinski
Q4 - Yes. I love my current Toyota Tacoma and would buy another one. Toyota handled it poorly, and greed got in the way of safety. It's a sad trend but it's always going to happen that way in our current society.
Q1 - Pajamas: Hmm... well, since I don't wear PJ's, it would probably be a wasted day since there's not a whole lot I can do without putting my clothes on. I have a habit of immediately getting dressed first thing in the morning though, so not sure it will ever happen.
Q2 - Restaurants: Heart Attack Grill in Arizona, The Range Steakhouse at Harrah's in Vegas, and whatever is the first restaurant to be opened in space... and it better not be a McDonald's!
Q3 - Mail: I'm with Mike on this. Since the only mail I send are Netflix DVD returns, and the only mail I care about receiving are typically Netflix rentals, the only reason I care about Saturday deliveries are because it will add a day delay in getting my new DVD's. But now that I stream most of my rentals, I'm really not that shook up about it... and as long as we're complaining about their retirement plan, let's not forget about mail handler's insurance. Man, what a racket the USPS is!
Q4 - Toyota: I would absolutely consider a Toyota! What better chance to get myself involved in a high-speed chase with the cops and get away with it (James Sikes' "runaway" Prius anyone?) The only thing that turns me off to them right now is their looks. I'd much rather own a Nissan Altima say, than a Camry. But if I were buying for my wife, Sienna wins hands down for me.
1. During the football season, this tends to be a weekly occurrence more often than not. Definitely a good day.
2. Ruth Chris' Steak House, Cabo Wabo, The County Line BBQ
3. After working for Fed Ex, the USPS Saturday service doesn't really compare, so it can go.
4. I drove 3 Toyota's from 2000-2008, and will remain loyal when I am in the market for a new one as well. Its the jack in the box concept. They had a major issue, and therefore had to produce an even better product to win people back. I will buy a Toyota when its time to get a new car for sure.

1 - I don't wear PJ's and going commando all day seems a bit chilly...
2 - Garlic Rose in SF, Spiaggia's in Chitown, Sage's in SLC
3 - I personally could do without Sat. delivery, however, the effect on eCommerce transactions would be concerning.
4 - I'll stick with the European cars. Great AWD systems and I don't have to worry about plowing through a median at 70 mph.
1. I never do that. My kids make sure of that. If I did get a day to lounge around I'm not sure if I'd feel it was a wasted day or not, would largely depend on my mood I think.
2. Local eats that are on my list: Communal (Provo, UT), Sugar House Barbeque Company (SLC), and Santa Monica Pizza & Pasta Co. (Highland, UT).
3. I don't think I'd notice that much- except when client payments land in… that's about the only nuisance I'd see.
4. No. But only because Toyota as a brand has never really appealed to me. Their current woes don't affect me at all, unless I would be the victim of being rear-ended by one of their faulty cars. :-)
Q1: Pajamas - maybe 3 years ago i spent all day in bed watching movies and drinking wine with my girlfriend - it was awesome!
Q2: Restaurants - Gather in Berkeley, The Farmhouse Inn in Forestville, CA. and Opah in Laguna Niguel.
Q3: Mail - Those bastards better not even think of pulling such a stunt. Actually, I don't care.
Q4: Toyota - The Prius is on my short list for a new car - especially if the plugin ever comes out - wasn't it supposed to be here by now?
1. I cannot remember the last time I spent a day in my pajamas. It looks like a great idea. By the way, who is that hadsome pajama man?
2. Restaurants - The Palm, Four Seasons can't think of a third.
3. It makes no difference to me.
4. I think this would be a good time to buy a Toyota. I'm sure they are watching everything and the cars will certainly be safe. Also, because of all the negative press, this would be a good time to get a good deal.
