Posted by: Sallie at May 13, 2004 10:29 PMI worked at the Packet Pickup on Friday night, and there were several thousand entry packets that were never even picked up (and we had to remove the timing chips from each one!) If these two quoted numbers are right, then there were more than 30,000 entries. Interestingly, two of the unclaimed packets were for "elite runners". It was tempting to take their yellow bibs just to show off to some running friends, but I already have too much junk.
